Teachers strike to demand PM, Govt resign

The Teacher’s and Principals’ Trade Union Collective stated they had staged a token strike yesterday (25) through a sick note campaign to demand the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Government due to their inability to sort out the grievances of the masses.

Convener Joseph Stalin stated that they had already demanded that the Government provide transport relief to principals, teachers and students.

He said shortages of fuel and rise in prices had adversely affected the transport sector, especially the school van service.
