St. John’s beat Jaffna Central by 99 runs


St. John’s College Jaffna beat Jaffna Central College by 99 runs in the 115th Encounter of the ‘Battle of the North’ played at the Jaffna Central College Grounds on Saturday, and recorded their 38th win in the series.

St. John’s scored 167 in the first innings to which Jaffna Central replied with 125. St. John’s scored 220 runs for 7 wickets declared in their second inning with Kamalapalan Sabesan, right hand batter of St. John’s scoring 105 runs in 116 balls with 9 boundaries and 5 sixes.
