The Ceylon Workers’ Congress (CWC) has decided to vote against the Government in the event a No-Confidence Motion (NCM) is brought by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), CWC General Secretary, MP Jeevan Thondaman said.
Speaking to Ceylon Today, CWC Chairman, MP M. Rameshwaran said the CWC remained neutral earlier. “Also, the people who have proposed the No-Confidence Motion against the Government were not sure about the outcome and now, we understood that supporting the No-Confidence Motion will contribute greatly to ousting the Government,” he said.
He further said, the CWC has a different policy and it will take timely decisions by considering the needs of the people.
“After having extensive discussions, the CWC has collectively taken this decision and it has been communicated to the party leaders of the ruling party, the Opposition, and the independents,” Thondaman tweeted yesterday (25).
