It has been decided to submit to the Government Analyst, the video footage of the Rambukkana protest and the incidents that followed which resulted in the death of a protester.
Police Spokesman, SSP Nihal Thalduwa said these steps are being taken in order to conduct a thorough investigation.
Meanwhile, the Police said more than 20 people, including civilians and Police Officers, gave statements about the incident. A team of 20 CID Officers is conducting investigations into the Rambukkana protest.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested a 28-year-old suspect in connection with the alleged attempt to set fire to a fuel bowser during a protest in Rambukkana. He was later released on bail.
According to Police, a video of the suspect, who was wearing a green T-shirt, was seen crossing the railway tracks, throwing something in front of a fuel bowser, and fleeing the scene. The suspect was from Pinnawala.
