Vehicular movement should not be hindered – Prasanna


Minister of Public Security Prasanna Ranatunga has asked Police to take immediate action to ensure that public transport is not disrupted during ongoing protests and demonstrations.

The Minister, in a letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security, stated that priority should be given to ambulances, school vans, office transport services, and vehicles transporting tourists.

Furthermore, the Minister has directed that vehicles involved in the transport of essential goods and services be allowed to move freely.

Minister Ranatunga has written to the Secretary informing him that due to the protests and demonstrations that have taken place in the country in the last few days, there were various obstacles to maintaining the normal life of the people.
