PUCSL calls for restoration of all social media platforms

In view of the inability to inform consumers of impending power cuts, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has requested the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and all mobile operators to restore social media platforms immediately.

Access to several social media platforms in Sri Lanka, including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Viber and YouTube were restricted after midnight on Sunday (03).

The move comes amidst a state of public emergency being declared and an islandwide curfew which imposed in an attempt to contain the widespread protests across the country against the ongoing economic crisis.
