Form Interim Govt in one week – SLFP

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has written to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, calling for the establishment of an Interim Government.

In their letter, the SLFP noted that if an Interim Government is not established within a week, all 14 MPs belonging to the party will be forced to resign from their Ministerial portfolios, and act as independent parties within Parliament.

Moreover, speaking to the media in relation to the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka, MP Chandima Weerakkody said that the SLFP is not in agreement with the declaration of a state of emergency, as the country faces no potential threat of terror.
