The current paper shortage in the country will not affect the 2021 G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination scheduled to be held in May, Education Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said.
He made this remark, while addressing the media after a meeting with the Mahanayaka Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter.
“There are various statements made with regard to the paper shortage. However, that has been resolved now. Necessary amount of question papers have already been prepared for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination. We also took steps two to three weeks ago to procure additional paper in case of any shortage,” Gunawardena noted.
Speaking further, he said the Ministry’s aim’s to hold the 2022 G.C.E. Advanced Level examination before the end of this year in the same month as per the normal schedule. “We also plan to increase university enrolments as well,” he added.
