Thurstan and St. Joseph’s advance to semis


Thurstan College Colombo and St. Joseph’s College Colombo advanced to the semi-finals of the Under-19 Division One Tier ‘A’ Inter Schools Cricket Tournament yesterday.

Thurstan beat Lumbini Colombo by 10 runs according to the D/L method in the Quarter-final played at Campbell Place.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka under-19 skipper Dunith Wellalage claimed four wickets for 37 runs, while another Sri Lanka youth cap Shevon Daniel claimed four wickets for 25 runs as St. Joseph’s bowled out Wesley College Colombo for 167 runs in 47 overs. St. Joseph’s had no trouble chasing down the target in just 36.1 overs with Daniel leading the way with an unbeaten 85.
