Indian teen sets new Palk Strait swim record

A 14-year-old student from Theni, India has set a new record by swimming across the Palk Strait from Dhanushkodi to Talaimannar in 19 hours and 45 minutes on 29 March.

The student, N.A. Snehan had previously recorded victories at numerous swimming meets in India.

He had also won gold at a swimming competition held in Goa three years ago. Snehan had entered his latest competition via a special approval granted to him by Sri Lanka and India.
