Senior Civil Aviation Officer of Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka Nilantha Tennakoon said the 29th Steering Committee Meeting of Cooperative Development of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness Programme – South Asia (COSCAP – SA), which was convened yesterday would continue today and tomorrow (30-31) at Hilton Colombo.
The organisation was established in 1997 to promote safety in civil aviation in the South Asian region and has since taken many steps towards this endeavour.
Over 60 representatives participated in the meeting along with representatives from Airbus Company, Boeing Company, Federal Aviation Administration, European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and Civil Aviation Authorities of Britain and France.
Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga, State Minister of Aviation and Export Zones Development, D. V. Chanaka and Regional Director of Asia Pacific Region of International Civil Aviation Organisation Tao Ma too, attended the meeting.
