B’caloa SLAF station celebrates 39th anniversary


The 39th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Station in Batticaloa was celebrated on 27 March under the guidance of Commanding Officer, Group Captain W. M.D.G.C.P.K. Warnasooriya.

The anniversary day proceedings commenced with a Shramadana campaign at St. Ann’s College Veechukalmunai and was followed by a volley ball tournament in the evening.

In line with the celebration 450 coconut plants were cultivated in the station premises. SLAF Command Agro Unit provided the plants for the cultivation at SLAF Station Batticaloa. In addition, gift packs sponsored by the People’s Bank Vavunathivu were also distributed among the students who completed their tenure at the Batticaloa SLAF Station preschool.
