Another person, wanted in connection with the killing of Energy Minister Gamini Lokuge’s driver, has been apprehended by the Mount Lavinia Division Criminal Investigations Unit.
The suspect, a 19-year-old from Boralesgamuwa, was apprehended on 26 March in the Boralesgamuwa area.
According to Police, he was detained based on CCTV camera footage and the motorcycle the suspect arrived on to perpetrate the crime has also been retrieved.
On 21 March, the driver of Minister Lokuge’s security van was attacked with clubs and sharp objects and murdered in the Mawiththara neighborhood. Three members of the same family, including the primary suspect, had earlier been apprehended by Police.
