The coronavirus pandemic has changed everything, from the way we live to the way we work, and the way we shop. It has accelerated the transformation of the retail industry like never before. OGF Retail Festival kicked off at the One Galle Face (OGF) Mall, Colombo recently. The fashion show showcased seven brands that are situated at the mall. They displayed their latest collection through a runway showcase. The fashion show was choreographed by Shanith Fernando. Popular drummers band Naadro performed throughout the show keeping the audience entertained and setting the beat and rhythm.
Offering carefully curated a selection of elegant designer wear set to transcend the South Asian fashion trend in Sri Lanka. Sona Mandhir provides quality fabric and designs sourced directly from Pakistan and India. Kick-starting the show, they showcased a sophisticated yet elegant collection. Featuring a few designer sarees, colourful lehengas and unique salwar kameez.
Kavita’s designs maintain a balance between elegance and tinsel. Bringing you the best of ethnic and fusion wear, focusing on creating new embellishments and innovative textures. Her signature style – a combination of traditional Indian aesthetics and modern flair. Soft georgette and chiffon drapes flared pants with capes, highlighted with miniature mirror embroidery and thread work, in both bright as well as pastel colours were on the ramp. From botanical-inspired or geometric prints to giving the collection an edgy update with soft blouses, breezy dresses, tailored jackets and stylish sarees.
Fouzul Hameed’s impeccable collections are tailored to the needs of contemporary, fashion-conscious, urban men who seek unmatched clothing solutions with an eye for detail and appreciation for the essence of fashion to achieve a vibrant look. The suits were created in wool, linen and silk fabrics in dark blue and black. The well-suited blazer and sharp pants were styled with a tie giving off a crisp look. In tune with the fashion aesthetic of the modern man, Fouzul’s designs have a unique knack of giving his customers just what they need, in terms of fabric, cut, and style. The blazers and shirts were dapper and unique.
