Dimuth jumps to no. five in Test batter rankings


Dimuth Karunaratne has made significant gains in the latest ICC Test Rankings, following his brilliance in the recently concluded India series.

The Sri Lanka captain jumped by three positions to a career best no. five batter ranking, after his fighting 107 in the second innings in Bangalore.

The top batter is Marnus Labuschagne, followed by Joe Root, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson respectively.

Meanwhile, spinners Lasith Embuldeniya and Praveen Jayawickrama jumped up five positions each to 32nd and 45th slots respectively.

Pat Cummins, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kagiso Rabada have retained the top three spots.
