Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral Dr. Sarath Weerasekara attended the World Police Summit that was held in the United Arab Emirates yesterday (14).
During the summit, the Minister met with Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Minister Weerasekera also met with INTERPOL President Dr. Ahamed Naser Al Raisi, Dubai Police Commander in Chief Lt. Gen. Abdullah Al Marri, and chiefs of police who gathered at the World Police Summit Forum.
The annual gathering of police chiefs discusses law enforcement cooperation, collaboration, and partnership to fight crime, terrorism and other threats.
The World Police Summit Forum is the leading global platform to upgrade the standards in policing.
Minister Weerasekera was invited by the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan to take part in the event.
