Borella Church bomb: Retired doctor, two others further remanded

Retired doctor Shirley Herath, and two others have been further remanded till  29 March over the finding of a hand grenade from All Saints Church in Borella.

Their remanding order was issued by the Colombo Magitsrate’s Court this morning (14).

75-year-old Herath was arrested on 20 January, and is being detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA), after he allegedly revealed information connecting him to the grenades previously recovered from a private hospital in Narahenpita and the Bellanwila Temple.

Several other persons arrested in connection with the case, however, including a church worker, have already been freed.
